In this webinar, Dr. David Rosenblum, MD, who serves as the Director of Maimonides Medical Center in New York, details the application of ultrasound in guiding platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for the purpose of promoting tissue repair, alleviating inflammation, and addressing pain in patients with chronic pain conditions. The initial case presented by Dr. Rosenblum involves a patient with persistent neck pain, unresponsive to various invasive and non-invasive treatments. Through video documentation of the procedure, Dr. Rosenblum illustrates the utilization of the articular pillars of the C-spine as ultrasound landmarks to accurately guide the needle and administer injections at multiple levels in the surrounding muscles, providing effective pain relief. In the subsequent case, Dr. Rosenblum showcases PRP injections for chronic sacroiliac joint pain, gluteal pain, and greater trochanteric bursitis. The presentation includes Dr. Rosenblum's clear identification of the SI joints and strategic planning of needle trajectories to ensure safe and precise treatment. Additionally, he demonstrates the use of Needle Enhance to locate the needle during a deeper injection into the greater trochanteric region. The final case study revolves around a patient dealing with chronic knee arthritis. Dr. Rosenblum expresses optimism that PRP therapy can potentially forestall or delay the necessity for surgery. He elucidates the ultrasound-guided approach to identify the joint space while avoiding contact with bone, ensuring a painless intraarticular
